Literacy New Jersey, Mercer County volunteers provide free, confidential instruction to adults at tutoring sites throughout Mercer County. We currently provide a broad menu of services, including one-on-one, small and large group tutoring, computer and citizenship classes to over 200 adults in Mercer County.  We ask that students commit to 2-4 hours of instruction per week for at least one year.  The lessons can be scheduled to fit the geographic and time needs of the students.

What makes LNJMCP unique is its formal training and support services for tutors.  All tutors complete a 15 hour pre-service training and many in-service workshops to hone their skills.  This rigorous training enables tutors to build effective, long-term teaching relationships with their students.
