PEI Kids is dedicated to promoting and maintaining a safe environment for all children. PEI Kids works with the child, family and caregiver to provide prevention, education and intervention programs regarding personal safety, sexual abuse and the overall well-being of the child.
PEI Kids operates three types of program areas: prevention, intervention and client support services. Our school-based prevention programs include presenting Child Assault Prevention (CAP) workshops to children and adults in over 65 Mercer County schools; Our intervention programs assist children in positive recovery from trauma, help avert crises, and redirect at-risk and adjudicated youth toward more positive pursuits.
Programs include Crisis Intervention for Child Victims of Sexual Abuse which provides immediate, professional counseling to victims (age 3 - 18) and their families; Comprehensive Juvenile Offender Outreach Services (CJOOS) for first and second-time offenders and youth on probation; Managing Aggression & Violence (MAV) for youth having thoughts of violence or acting out with anger/aggression; and Family Support Services which provides transportation and supervised family visitation for children in foster care under the direction of the Department of Children and Families.
