This year has been a challenging year for everyone… and that’s putting it lightly. Job losses, virtual schooling, political discord, social/racial inequalities - the list goes on. Sometimes it can be helpful to have someone safe and supportive to talk to when the world feels like a mess. Whether you’re dealing with distress from the isolation or feeling like you’re in a never-ending Groundhog Day loop of ‘blah’ days, I can help you dig yourself out of that hole and see what is on the other side. I love having the opportunity to work with teens and young adults who are going through difficult times in their lives. My goal is to help you better cope with feelings of discontent, sadness, and anxiety so that you can begin to enjoy your life again.
If you are someone who deals with a chronic illness, this year may be even harder for you. If you are immunocompromised, you may be dealing with more anxiety than usual about getting sick. The mind-body connection between mental and physical illness is undeniably strong, with one affecting the other, at times indistinguishable from one another. When faced with depression or anxiety on top of a chronic illness, you might feel like you have no control over what is happening to your mind and/or body. Let me help you learn what you can control to be a healthier you. Your medical doctors will agree - working on your mental health has a positive impact on your physical wellbeing. Let’s take the journey together to process how your chronic or life-limiting illness has shaped who you are and let’s go a step further to explore who you are beyond your illness.
