Chance Makers is Give Chances' youth leadership council for middle and high school students nationwide who want to grow as leaders, serve their communities, and make a difference. Running for over 10 years, the program delivers evidence-based leadership curriculum developed with government agencies and community partners through biweekly hybrid workshops, in-person events, and hands-on service.

  • Learn: Structured mentoring from college students, educators, and professionals; monthly workshops on leadership, communication, and wellness; college prep workshops and career exploration panels.
  • Lead: Members plan and execute the annual Chance Makers Leadership Forum (300+ attendees), managing panelist recruitment, sponsorship, marketing, budgeting, and day-of operations. Members also design and launch their own community initiatives through the Youth Social Impact Project Challenge.
  • Serve: Members engage in outreach across schools, neighborhoods, and partner organizations, advocating for education access, youth empowerment, mental health, and inclusion.

Benefits include public speaking and leadership skill-building, Volunteer Service Award eligibility, professional recommendation letters, and networking with alumni and professionals.

Eligibility: Chance Makers (Grades 9-12) and Junior Chance Makers (Grades 5-8). One-year commitment with active participation required.
