Parenting the Child Who's Challenged was designed by parents whose children have emotional, behavioral, and mental health challenges. These are the classes we wish we had when raising our kids! Session 1 outlines the System of Care for children with emotional, behavioral, and mental health challenges and describes wraparound services and natural supports. Learn what a crisis plan is as well as an Individual Service Plan. You can attend any single session that interests you, or, for a certificate of completion, you can attend all 12.

This training is for parents, teachers, paraprofessionals, and anyone involved with the care and education of a child or adult with autism. Safety, emergency, and crisis intervention are topics that are sometimes uncomfortable to think about. Being prepared for such situations is the best way to minimize the negative effects. This workshop will help prepare for emergencies and lower risk. This presentation will provide: • an overview of inclusion • the benefits of inclusion • effective inclusion practices • guidelines for successful inclusion Effective inclusion practices such as positive behavior support, classroom management, collaboration, frequent progress monitoring, and data collection to ensure academic, behavioral, and social gains will be reviewed. This presentation will assist parents, regular education teachers, special education teachers and administrators in identifying the practices and supports necessary for successful inclusion.
